PT4 Transmitter

The transmitter sends a coded digital FM radio signal through the boundary wire. This signal can be adjusted in terms of range (operating distance from the boundary wire) and cycles per second. The coding incorporates both audible warning and static correction. There is a user choice QuickAlertTM option that is useful for dogs that attempt to run through the zone.

The optional PowerPakTM keeps the system running in the event of a power failure.

There is a ground wire from the transmitter to the power pack to protect the transmitter from power surges.

The loop monitor display provides a visual indication of the width of the boundary signal (range) and possible boundary wire problems. The radio signal is transmitted in all directions from the boundary wire. The range is up to 3 metres on either side of the boundary wire (total of 6 metres).

If there is a wire break the indicator lights will go out and there will be an audible warning.

The signal field has two areas. The first area is the Audible Warning Zone and is about 13% of the total signal field (e.g. about 40 cms of a 3 metre field). The second area is the remainder of the field and is the Correction Zone. When QuickAlertTM has been chosen the dog will get a very quick correction first and then the basic warning tone and correction as described above.

The PT4 Transmitter can send the signal through 1300metres of cable protecting approximately 10Ha. The PT4EX transmitter can cover up to 200 acres.

The signal is transmitted in 8 kHz or 4 kHz and in either FM Digital or AM so interference from neighbouring systems or stray signals is minimized.

The system is protected from the effects of nearby lightning strikes by an external grounded surge protector.

The rate, cycles per second, can be set to slow, medium or high. The purpose of this is to allow variation to suit the personality of your dog. Generally, a slow rate would be preferable for a sensitive dog.

The system can operate with any DogWatch collar receivers and any number of collar receivers to contain as many pets as required.
